Instructions - Please Read!
If you have questions or concerns that aren't answered below, a brother of Phi Mu Alpha will be in the Dhall lobby from November 14th until November 18th at lunch and dinner to help you. Alternatively, you can email mu.delta@gmail.com for information.
Step 1: Write down family codes
Write down (or print out) the codes that correspond to your families (like V6 or CR10), and have them available when you turn in your dinners. Without these codes, we don't know what dinners go to what families! If you forget what families you've registered for, go to pmalu.org/turkey/sponsors.php and find your listing.
Step 2: Raise money and go shopping
You or your group are responsible for getting non-perishable Thanksgiving food and a $10 to $20 gift certificate (for a turkey) to include with each of your dinners. Some of the common items we see are below, but it's just a suggestion! Just remember, the organizations only accept NON-PERISHABLE food. If you bring perishable items, you might end up feeding our collection staff!

You can pick up a gift certificate at the register of most of the major grocery stores around town. Make sure to keep your gift certificate separate from your food container, because we will be placing a sticker on it (to mark it for W.I.C. foods only) at the drop off location.
Step 3: Get a container
You can turn in your dinners in boxes, baskets, big tupperware- really anything that can hold it. Put as little or as much effort into it as you want. You can include a card from your organization as well. Just remember, don't put the gift card inside your container if it's sealed!
Step 4: Bring your dinners to us
The drop off locations and times are as follows:
- Monday 21st - Student Union Ballroom, 9:00am - 5:00pm
- Tuesday 22nd - Student Union Ballroom, 9:00am - 5:00pm
You MUST bring us your dinners during one of these times or they may never get delivered!
Phi Mu Alpha will deliver your dinners to several organizations around the community who will then deliver them to the families in need.
Step 5: Get credit for your donation of time and money
You or your organization should fill out the Individual or Group log sheet that can be found on the Longwood Volunteer and Service Learning Website. The form can be turned in to Lankford 218 after you have turned in your dinners.
